Drop #01 - Brazil Single Origin / 12oz (340g)
Pickup currently not available
The medium roast intensity of this single origin Brazil pairs well with its heavy body and mildly present acidity. I'd say it has a sweet fragrance with chocolatey flavor notes and I encourage you to brew this coffee multiple ways from espresso to pour over. If you want to know more about how this coffee was developed see below story. Scroll through the images to get a sense of what a medium roast level looks like.
Brazil produces a lot of coffee but much of it isn't very good. So when it comes to sourcing coffee from Brazil local knowledge and relationships really matter. I purchase the majority of my green coffee through The Coffee Shrub out of Oakland. They do a lot work in terms of sourcing and the level of information they provide to roasters is really quite great. This particular coffee from Brazil was truly a learning process for me, one that I really enjoyed. My goal was the creating of a balanced cup regardless of how you brew it. This was a challenge given the modest level of acidity present (think fruit notes/aroma). I wanted to preserve some of that while developing the perception of sweetness and chocholate/nutty flavor. My results early on where mixed so I considered creating a blend with another coffee from a different region. I'm glad I stuck it out because I landed on a roast profile that I was quite happy with. I hope you enjoy drinking this coffee as much as I've enjoyed the process of presenting it to you.
GIVR Coffee Roasters was created to give back. Rather than simply donating to causes on my own, I wanted to encourage others give give along with me. What better way to do that than through a collective obsession with coffee. You get a great cup of coffee each day and the money you spend objectively changes peoples lives for the better. How can you not feel great about that?
To maximize the amount of good your cup of coffee can do GIVR donates 100% of all profits to charity. The cost of the green coffee, packaging and other inputs make up about $8 to $10 per bag. The rest of your purchase cost is donated.
